Joshua 1:8. God gave a very good counsel to Joshua to keep the Word of God with all his heart and to walk before Him. He was teaching him the great secrets of a successful life. All people want to have success in their lives. But many people do not know the secret of a successful life. After the servants of God, Mr. & Mrs. Daniel had been called into this ministry, they could see wonderful success in this ministry. Everywhere they went and preached, they could see great revival. One day the servant of God, Mr. Daniel said to me, 'I did not miss God's will in all the main things in my life.' That was the secret of his success.

Let us read Joshua 8:34 & 35 please. "And afterward he read all the words of the law, the blessings and cursings, according to all that is written in the book of the law. There was not a word of all that Moses commanded, which Joshua read not before all the congregation of Israel, with the women, and the little ones, and the strangers that were conversant among them.” He did not leave one word of the law go unheeded. What a diligent man! Joshua 11:15. He did not leave one word undone. Exactly what God said, he followed very strictly. Every true child of God, if he follows and obeys God like this, he will be surely a successful man.

Let us see which are the points in which Joshua had success. When he wanted to lead the people into the land of Canaan, there was the river Jordan - a big barrier across their path. He made the priests to carry the ark of the covenant of the Lord on their shoulders and stand in the waters. What happened? The water from the north ceased to flow down, and a way was made across the riverbed. That means, those that carried the Lord's covenant could stop the flood. Water stopped flowing! In the same way, when you and I carry the Lord Jesus, the flood of evil will stop. Here, Joshua saw the great secret of victory.

Afterwards one day, there was a great battle and he could not finish the battle before dusk. It was a very difficult battle. If night fell, it would be an advantage for the enemy. The enemy would escape under cover of darkness. Joshua wanted to stop the sun. Is that so easy? But he looked to God. What happened? Joshua 10:12 “Then spake Joshua to the Lord in the day when the Lord delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon.” A man who carries the Word of God, a man who follows the Word of God without any question, will have authority over nature. The moon and the sun stayed. 13th verse “And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is it not written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day.” What a victory!

It seems, recently scientists wanted to know the count of days that have gone by in this world. So, with the computer they began to work it out. After a long time, the computer suddenly stopped and showed a red light. One day is gone, it said. They were greatly perplexed. What happened to one day? It is gone! Where has it gone? The scientists were greatly perplexed. There was a Christian in their midst. He said, 'Yes, yes, it is written in the Bible, one day is gone.' So they asked him to bring the Bible. They opened at Joshua 10:12-14, and said, 'It is written that one day is gone.' They all wondered. What a wonderful book the Bible is! This book, the Bible, is real and is the true revelation of God. That is how Joshua saw success in his life.

Then he became very successful in his family life also. Joshua 24:15. “… but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” This is a very successful life. Many people cannot make this statement. Joshua was a servant of God, who served the Lord with his whole family. It is one thing to say, ‘I will serve the Lord’, but an altogether different thing to say, ‘Myself and my family will serve the Lord.’ My dear brothers and sisters, if you can make such a statement and show that it is true, you are really very successful. Let us also follow God very faithfully.
