House of Prayer

"Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer:" (Isaiah 56:7)

God says that we will be satisfied in His house of prayer. God has chosen the means of prayer to make a man acceptable before Him. When we go for prayer, God looks at our whole personality. When we go to God our whole being should be in order. Otherwise God will say to us, "I see prayer on your lips, but I do not see prayer in your eyes." When we go to God, He examines our body, soul and spirit. We have a very deceitful nature.

"Hearken to me, ye that follow after righteousness, ye that seek the LORD: look unto the rock whence ye are hewn, and to the hole of the pit whence ye are digged" (Isaiah 51:1). God recognizes the content of our heart. God talks of people who know righteousness, and not of people who know about righteousness. "People in whose heart is my law", says God. The law of God has so possessed them that all their emotions are pleasing to God. We can adjust our prayer to be right but our heart can be against God. God is not deceived by our prayers. God knows what is wrong with us. God wanted His people to have His law written on their hearts. If God's law is in our hearts, we have no fear at all. He will take us into His house of prayer and satisfy us. Nowhere else can we be satisfied.

God will satisfy you in the house of prayer. Angels will come to hear your prayer because your whole personality and the vibrations of your heart are controlled by God. Do not think we can do God's work with partial holiness. When we go into the presence of the Almighty we must be very careful.

There is sin in the high places. "I will make them joyful in my house of prayer." What a promise! Unless we come up to that level we cannot work for God. Your letters, your words and your inward desires - God watches all these. Are you going to aim at the standards of Christ which alone will overcome this world?
