“Spiritual Plenty”                                                     LATE MR. N. DANIEL

Isaiah 32:15    "Until the spirit be poured upon us from on high., and the wilderness be a fruitful field and the fruitful field be counted for a forest."

The times of future spiritual plenty are being foretold. God had foretold that the world which has become a wilderness would be turned into a fruitful field, full of valuable fruits. In this compound there are some fruit trees and some trees just fit for fuel. What man can achieve by his physical effort is of the least value like the fuel value of a tree which is its least value. God is speaking of the Gentiles being fruitful. When Peter preached in the house of Cornelius the Holy Spirit came upon them. When the Holy Spirit comes, a dry tree becomes green, a worthless tree becomes a fruitful tree - everything will change. When revival comes young people will live holy lives, the sick are healed, the poor are lifted from want. In Ephesus, Antioch, Thessalonica, Corinth and in many other Gentile towns, when the Gospel was preached, they accepted the Word of God and fruitful life began to spring up.

In many countries there is a false philosophy that justifies the wicked. An evil spirit is ruling the hearts of the leaders. The Spirit of God is not in them. Zech. 12:8 “In that day shall the Lord defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and he that is feeble among them shall be as David; and the house of David shall be as God, as the angel of the Lord before them." When we stand before these promises and see that we are so far from the fulfillment, we must know that we are seeking earthly things.

A fruitful field will flourish further and a wilderness will become a fruitful field. You may be already fruitful but when the Holy Spirit comes, your fruitfulness will increase further. People will see the change in you. The words you speak will ring like the oracles of God in people's hearts. 1 Peter 4:11 “If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth; that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever.'  This is the expectation of God. The prophets were the oracles of God. Psalm 119:5;112. “O that my ways were directed to keep thy statutes. I have inclined mine heart to perform thy statutes always, even unto the end.” The psalmist was bringing his heart to yield and obey the Word of God. Once you begin to obey the Word of God you will have no fear, even in the valley of the shadow of death you will have no fear. God is with you. Follow the oracles of God. You yourself must be an oracle. When the Holy Spirit comes, you will be able to do that. What a blessed state that is - to speak as an oracle of God! “Judgment shall dwell in the wilderness.”

Eichman who killed millions of Jews was executed. He pleaded for clemency and there was no repentance in him. No judgment! After killing millions of Jews he had no repentance. It was Hitler's philosophy. There is no judgment in the wilderness. The stronger animal eats the weaker one. In our nations today, it is the same. The rich man preys upon the poor man.

God says even in the wilderness there will be justice. The work of righteousness must be peace. The effect of righteousness is quietness and assurance for ever. How we like quietness! We value it more and more as we grow older. Where can we get quietness? It must be in our heart. Then it will spread to others.

Your words will bring peace. I know families where peace has prevailed for generations. The prophet Isaiah is talking of the post-resurrection period when the Gentiles will receive the Holy Spirit and the wilderness will be turned into a fruitful field.

There must be peace among us. One of the promises we have is Isaiah 44:3. There must be peace among us to inherit the promise.
