The Spirit’s Touch

"...thou art neither cold nor hot: ...I will spue thee out of my mouth....thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:" (Revelation 3:13-19)

God is speaking to a Church. These evaluations are not according to human evaluations. It is what the Spirit said to the Churches. When a man is converted by the Spirit of God, you do not have to ask him to confess his sins. He will do it spontaneously. Has the Spirit met you? When that happens, a wonderful revelation will come to you and you will not resist it. You can have a mental repentance, but that is no good. When the Spirit touches you, there will be an utter brokenness and humility in you. You will throw out all your sins beginning from your childhood till now and you will be a different person altogether.

The Spirit knows your works - your own plans, your own thoughts, your works which are the result of your enthusiasm and not of faith. When the Spirit meets you, you will know your own works. You are neither hot nor cold. When you are with spiritual people you act like them. When amidst evil companions, you talk evil things and things against God's children, God will spue you out.

You say you are rich but God says you are wretched. Nothing that you possess will help you on judgment day. God says, there is nothing in your house acceptable to God. God will never step into your house. You are the poorest of the poor. The Spirit says you are wretched - you have no spiritual vision - you have no spiritual unction. Have you ever met the Spirit? Did you hear what the Spirit says about your individual life and your family life?

You think you are very well. Your clothes do not cover you. Only God can clothe you with righteousness. The Word of God is gold tried in fire. "The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times" (Psalm 12:6). The Word of God is wisdom. The Spirit of God is sent to rest upon you. But has the Spirit ever met you?
