Shepherded – 86 YEArs

Let us remember the promises of God
to the Fellowship and claim them.

1. Isaiah 60:22. A little one shall become a thousand, and a small one a strong nation: I the LORD will hasten it in his time.

2. Isaiah 44:3. For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground: I will pour my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine offspring:

3. Isaiah 59:21. As for me, this is my covenant with them, saith the LORD; My spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed’s seed, saith the LORD, from henceforth and for ever.

4. Isaiah 45:3. And I  will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I, the LORD, which call thee by thy name, am the God of Israel.

5.  Isa 62:6-7. I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, which shall never hold their peace day nor night: ye that make mention of the LORD, keep not silence, And give him no rest, till he establish, and till he make Jerusalem a praise in the earth.

6. Acts 18:10. For I am with thee, and no man shall set on thee to hurt thee: for I have much people in this city.

7. Isaiah 54:17. No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.

8. Jeremiah 42:10. If ye will still abide in this land, then will I build you, and not pull you down, and I will plant you, and not pluck you up: for I repent me of the evil that I have done unto you.

PREFACE

Our hearts are full of gratitude and praise, as we think of God’s great faithfulness towards us all through the past 86 years. In His mercy and faithfulness, He has carried us forward during this challenging period of coronavirus, when we were beset with so many restrictions and lockdowns etc.  We praise God that in spite of all these hindrances, the work of the Lord has been going forward, around the world.  It is only the Lord who takes us through the storms and gets us to the other side.

Right from the days of Bro. N. Daniel (senior) and Bro. Joe, we have seen the faithfulness of our good Lord towards us. It is so amazing to see how even in small centres, people have adapted to online prayer meetings and worship services and special meetings utilizing zoom and other helpful applications. People have been praying together and worshipping together online, overcoming all obstacles and hindrances.

Let us continue to pray that the Word of God will spread and reach many people who are in great despair and without hope.  Let us give ourselves to much prayer during this time of this covid pandemic, to seek the Lord and pray that His name is lifted up at this time of great need in the nation and the world. “And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.” (John 12:32)

Let us pray much for people who are suffering all over the world without Christ and going to a Christ-less grave. May the dear Lord be lifted up so that many will turn to the Saviour of the world, the Lord Jesus!

NEW ADVANCES

Aalo, Arunachal Pradesh

We praise God that the ministry in the Northeastern states of India has been going forward in full swing, despite all the contrary currents brought on by the coronavirus. Our brothers and sisters are diligently seeking to reach new souls even during these hard times and many are hearing the Word on zoom.

In spite of the remoteness of the area, the work of God has been sustained and strengthened by the Lord.  We have our main centre in the capital city of Itanagar where our Bro. Stephen and Ning are labouring for the Lord seeking the lost and working to win many souls.

Aalo is one of the old towns of Arunachal Pradesh. The Lord in His mercy opened a door for ministry in this town recently and we have started conducting Sunday services in a large apartment complex. Three of our converted sisters are taking care of this ministry with a burden for souls. We are praying for a steady work in this place and that many new souls must be won for the Lord.

New Prayer Hall in Guyana, South America

In spite of the coronavirus keeping many people closeted in their homes, the Lord spoke to Bro. John Daniel through the passage in Luke 22 where the Lord told his disciples to go and prepare the Passover as the Lord had made the way already. This is what one experienced as we had to overcome many barriers to make the journey to Guyana.  The negative Covid test results came through only when we were on the way to the airport to Guyana! At the gate, the results were submitted online with the test results to the government of Guyana to be allowed to enter into the country. God went before us and prepared the way as He said.

The Lord graciously enabled us to hold the special meetings in our new prayer hall in Georgetown having outgrown the old place of worship. Many needy people came to hear the Word such that the hall was full in spite of the coronavirus epidemic! We missed many of the young students who were sent back to their homes in the hinterland due to the coronavirus closing the schools and the universities changing over to an on-line format.  We praise God that many are being reached by God’s word and that the books which are going out are reaching many.  Recently it was reported that our calendar has been put up on the doors of a church in the Amazon forest and all the people go and read the verse each day.   Many hear the message on the national TV and radio station reaching deep into the Amazon forest.

Let us pray much for our brothers and sisters and all the dear people whom the Lord is touching.  May God raise up many people as witnesses and transform the nation and South America with the preaching of His Word.

Our First Online Students’ Camp

It is the mercy of God that we could announce and have our first online Students’ Camp in short notice, from Jan. 14 to 17. Due to the Covid restrictions, we could not gather at Beulah Gardens. However the Lord enabled us to move the Camp to an on-line format where people could gather at our centres to hear God’s word on all the four days. Reports of blessing came in from many quarters. We are giving below the report from one of our centres in Andhra Pradesh, which speaks of the definite blessing of God in that centre.

“By the grace of our Lord the online Student’s camp was very much blessed by the Lord during the four days at our centre. As the Camp commenced, we began to feel as though we were very much in Beulah Gardens hall where we normally gather for our Students’ Camp. Messages from Bro. Joe, Mrs. Lily Daniel and Bro. John Daniel came afresh refreshing our souls and stirring the youth.

“Though the news of the camp being held on-line was announced in short notice, many students could gather from our centres and sub-centres and hear the word of God. Moreover thousands of young people watched it online at their homes, and they felt the touch of the Lord. Now many are repenting and confessing their sins. The prayer sessions were greatly blessed of the Lord. Local testimonies of the Lord’s touch from students were a challenge to many. Some elders who attended were also blessed.

“Many boys and girls fasted and prayed and got through to God and received the assurance of salvation from the Lord.  Some felt the experience of darkness and evil spirits leaving them during the messages. Now they are turning to the Lord. People are really hungry for the word of God during these Covid times. We are praying for a rich harvest of souls out of these labours.”

Let us continue to plead earnestly before God for these precious young people who heard God’s word, that they will get through to the Lord and live for Him.

WORLDWIDE LABOURS

IN NORTH AMERICA

Summer Retreat

As we prayed, the Lord enabled us to move forward in faith and hold the Summer Retreat in a horse barn which the Lord provided access to, at a time when everyone was hiding in fear of the coronavirus. The couple who lent us their barn were thrilled that it could be used for the word of God to go out at this time of great need. The regular retreat centre which we use was closed for the year.

The Lord brought hungry people who drove from faraway places to come and hear the word of God.  We were truly blessed as the Bible says, “Blessed are they that hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled.” Those who lived on the property heard the word of God from their lodgings and spoke of great blessing and asked us to come back.  The Lord must help us to move forward in faith and see His kingdom built at this time of great need and despair around the world.

Thanksgiving Retreat

The Lord enabled us to hold the Thanksgiving Retreat in our chapel in Novi, Detroit and He brought many people to hear God’s word, some travelling from far.  We were able to take a few precautions due to the coronavirus, like providing simple meals in take-out containers etc.   The focus of the retreat messages was: “Growing in Faith.”

Many went back to their rooms after the meetings to spend time in prayer.  The secret is having the still small voice of the Lord in our heart, and not allowing the confusion and the noise of men to seep into our hearts and lives.  The Lord in His mercy protected us from the virus at the retreat.   May the presence of God as the pillar of fire and the cloud be our portion!

Easter Retreat

The Lord blessed the Easter Retreat and brought in many who travelled from various parts of the country in spite of all the Covid concerns broadcast by the media. The Lord met with us and granted His word to address the need of the people. One of the first messages or rebukes of the Lord Jesus was addressed to the devil himself, ”Man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceed out of the mouth of God.”

People need the word of God which brings correction, direction and hope to a despairing world. Simple food arrangements were made for all and the Lord took care of us and kept the Covid virus away. Our prayer is that the Lord will seal His word in the hearts and lives of all those who heard His word.

In Australia

Melbourne  has had to endure several lockdowns this past year. During the lockdown period, the meetings continued over Zoom and several brethren scattered in various other States and cities joined in. Every  third Sunday we hold a combined Sunday service over zoom with all the brethren around Australia. Please pray that God would give us all a love and burden for the many lost souls who may not have heard the gospel but also have not seen the gospel in action.

By God’s grace, we were able to have a retreat in Melbourne on 24th & 25th April. Due to the ongoing Covid restrictions, we had the retreat as a hybrid format—some joining us via Zoom from other states.

On Saturday, Bro. Rodney gave the message, and we went straight into a blessed time of fasting prayer. We had around thirteen people join us online from Brisbane, Newcastle, Perth and Adelaide along with fifteen of us present in Melbourne. Bro Rodney shared from Numbers 32 and challenged us not to be stubborn and rebellious like the Israelites but to be humble, obedient, and follow the will of God in all areas of our lives.

On Sunday, we had twenty-two join us online and eighteen of us in Melbourne. In the morning we had a Bible study on the Parable of the Sower and the four conditions of  the heart. Following lunch, Bro. Rodney shared at the final session from I Corinthians 9 on stewardship with regards to building the Kingdom of God. It was also a joy to see the children step up and play the music at the retreat.

In Myanmar (Burma)

We must pray much for Myanmar where several of our brothers and sisters are labouring for the Lord. Brother Mumtang and his wife need our prayer support for their protection as the military has taken over the country and there is much violence and bloodshed everywhere.  We praise God for the young people who are turning to the Lord at the small hostel where many young people gather from the confusion and disturbance around.   Let us pray for the young people who are being reached with God’s word and that they will rise up to take the gospel to all of Burma.

The African Continent

Please do pray for our brothers and sisters who were touched of the Lord as students in our centres in India and have now gone back to their various countries in Africa.  Let us pray for them as they witness to their friends and family about what the Lord has done in their lives  and that they would be winners of souls.  They are spread around various countries like Nigeria, Uganda, South Sudan and Burundi and a few more nations.

big Campaigns

IN Andhra Pradesh

In a miraculous way the Lord enabled us to exercise faith and move forward with a few important revival meetings in Andhra Pradesh in spite of the uncertain Covid situation in February. Due to the many government restrictions still in place, a limit had to be placed on the number of people who were allowed to attend the meetings in the three places where meetings were held.

Stuartpuram

In Stuartpuram, only the local people were given permission to attend the meetings and outside people were asked not to come. In spite of that instruction, we had about 700 on the first two days and there were more than 1500 on the last two days. It touched our hearts deeply to see the great hunger for God’s Word in the hearts of the people.

As usual, we had evangelists meetings also in the mornings and there were about 300 workers who attended. There were about 150 in the youth meetings.

The Lord used his servant Bro. John Daniel powerfully according to the need of the people and the spirit of prayer was upon the people. God provided all that was needed and kept the virus away.

Vijayawada

It is purely the mercy and grace of God that the meetings went forward uninterrupted in our centre in Vijayawada. With strict Covid restrictions, it is a miracle that the meetings went on well without any disturbance.  God’s presence and His faithfulness was quite evident. Though the numbers were restricted, God’s word went forth in power. This only proves that nothing can stop the word of God going out in spite of all local fears and restrictions.  Everything gives way for God’s  plans to be fulfilled.

The youth meetings at 7 am on 15th and 16th February were well attended by nearly 200 young people. The general meeting at 10:30 am on 15th  and 16th  were also well attended. The evening meetings saw close to 700 coming in to hear the word of God. It was amazing to see the hunger and thirst in the hearts of people. People heard the word of God in absolute silence and cried out to God in the prayer sessions. Surely these meetings proved to be a great blessing to many. We do pray that the Lord will continue to work in the hearts of people and that God’s name is glorified.

Machilipatnam

At the meetings in Machilipatnam, the Lord was lifted up and people drank in the word of God which went out in great power and unction from 14th to 16th February at our prayer hall.  The lights at the meetings lighted up the whole neighbourhood around which stood as a contrast to the darkness around.

As the Word of God began to sink in, people began to repent and they began to share their hidden lives of sin and disobedience and sought deliverance. The prayer sessions were accompanied with great contrition and brokenness. Though we did not print any handbills, yet our prayer hall was full.  In spite of the ongoing local  elections in Andhra Pradesh, the good Lord granted a peaceful and quiet atmosphere around us. Certainly these meetings were such a great blessing to all. We praise God for all His mercies.

Small Meetings in Andhra Pradesh  AND Telangana

Every year, special gospel meetings are being conducted in many centres in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, from February to April. Due to Covid epidemic, we could not conduct the meetings in all our centres as planned. The Lord used our evangelists to preach God’s word wherever meetings were held.

It is so amazing to see the hunger for God’s Word as many gathered in our centres for the meetings. The spirit of prayer was very much evident as one could hear the cries and pleadings during the prayer sessions. Sometimes our brothers found it very difficult to close the meetings as people kept pouring their hearts out before God. We get reports that people are still seeking the Lord with repentance for salvation and deliverance in their lives.

People find themselves very insecure at this time and are hungry for God’s word. We must pray that the Lord must do a deep work in the hearts and lives of all who heard the word.  Let us pray for the Spirit’s continuing work in hearts that many will rise up to live for the Lord and to serve him faithfully.

Labours in North & Northeast India

In spite of the Covid situation which brought in many restrictions, special meetings and one-day retreats in the North and Northeast of India in places like Aizawl, Mizoram, Karimganj, Assam, Jammu, Anantnag in Kashmir and a few other small and big places were held.  We praise God for the many people who heard the Word at these meetings and cry for a harvest of souls.

In Aizawl, Mizoram, we had a One-day Retreat for Veterinary College students and central Agricultural university students in March. As we were limited to no more than 150 in number, more students could not join us. Many who attended were freshers (first year students) and new to our meetings and they came from Assam, Manipur Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh and other Northeastern States. Many students are responding and turning to the Lord.

We need much prayer for the ministry among young people in the various schools, colleges and universities of Mizoram where our people labour week after week.

Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh

Just before the second wave of COVID concerns began in Arunachal Pradesh, we could have a three-day Easter Camp in our centre in Itanagar. We could accommodate about 70 young people. The Lord blessed His word resulting in people repenting and getting right with God.  Please pray that the Lord would raise many of them to live for Him.

Jammu

The Lord has been blessing the ministry in Jammu and many new souls are being reached. In His mercy, the Lord enabled us to conduct a one-day retreat in Jammu. There were about 75 people from the town and the Lord used our brothers to share His Word. The testimonies were a blessing and touched the hearts of people. Many of the local people who had disappeared before and after the lockdown and were away from us without any fellowship, were brought by the Lord for this retreat. Some of them were awakened, as they opened their hearts and shared their personal problems and asked for prayer.

An Air Force brother posted on duty in Leh, and another Lt. Colonel posted in the remote border area near Pakistan, and many others watched the whole retreat via Zoom and were blessed. Please continue to pray that God may raise many mighty witnesses for His Kingdom.

Bansi, Uttar Pradesh

God has been good to our team in Bansi as they are labouring amongst people who are very hostile to the Gospel. When the lockdown was suddenly announced in March 2020, the Lord enabled the school to function on-line  and helped them to complete the academic year.  Many parents are happy with the efforts to teach their children.

Many hungering for the Word of God have started coming to the meetings.  The Lord blessed our Good Friday and Easter services where people travelled 35 to 50 km to join the worship. The dear Lord is healing people from sicknesses and demonic afflictions. We must pray that many faithful people should rise up from this humble ministry to build His Kingdom.

Labours in Tamil Nadu

Due to Covid restrictions, we could not have special meetings in many of our centres in Tamil Nadu, as we planned and scheduled earlier. Yet the dear Lord helped our team to have meetings in  three places.

Kancheepuram, Tamil Nadu

Many from various backgrounds attended the revival meetings and heard the Word earnestly. People came from nine sub-centres around Kancheepuram. Some of them met our brothers and spoke of their eagerness to hear God’s word on a regular basis. Even children were seen praying with tears during the prayer sessions. Thus the dear Lord blessed the meetings in spite of the hot weather. Let us pray for the conversion of those who were touched of the Lord.

Bhavani, Tamil Nadu

Though the meetings were arranged in short notice, the dear Lord blessed our simple efforts and brought many souls who were touched by the hearing of God’s word.  In spite of the colleges being closed, we had quite a few needy students at the meetings who drank in the Word with much thirst. We must pray that the Lord will grant us to see a breakthrough and to see many souls touched and transformed, to live for the Lord.

Panpakkam, Tamil Nadu

Panpakkam is a small village 20 km from Beulah Gardens. The Lord gave us three days of meetings here. The small hall was filled with needy people who heard the Word of God very earnestly. Many were touched and are seeking the Lord. Let us pray for these needy people and for the ministry here.

Carol Services

The Christmas season always gives us a great opportunity to reach people with the “good tidings of great joy.” Though the whole world was still reeling under the coronavirus pandemic, yet we could gather in large numbers for our carol services to celebrate and declare the birth of the Saviour of the world in many of our centres throughout India and other countries. Apart from the many people who filled our halls, we had several hundreds watching it online through zoom. Children and young people gladly and wholeheartedly shared in the ministry with their Christmas plays and carols. The Lord granted His Word and many nominal Christians and non-Christians heard the good news of the Saviour’s birth. Let us continue to pray for these precious souls who heard the Word at our carol services.

In Australia, the carol service was held online on Zoom and several families and individuals were present. Bro. Rodney shared a message on the shepherds’ humility, obedience, and vision to share the good news.

God brought many people to the carol service in Detroit overcoming the fear of the virus which have many in lock-down mode.  Many heard the message on-line and were blessed.  One young man stated that he felt at peace during the service amongst all the trouble around.

 Online Annual Retreat

Although we could not meet together this year at Beulah Gardens due to the severe restrictions placed on travel and the lockdowns in many parts of India and the world, God’s word assures us that His kingdom is like a mustard seed growing into a large tree, and is like leaven, leavening the whole lump. (Matt. 13: 31-33)

The Lord in His great mercies enabled the Retreat to be on-line. The message could reach countless number of people both morning and evening as thousands of people signed on to hear the message, in addition to the many who gathered around individual devices and heard God’s word together and also many downloads of the messages which were passed onto friends and neighbours.

Many expressed great blessing from all over the world, as the Word of God came as a breath from heaven. Many sat and heard God’s word with their children in their homes which is a tremendous blessing for generations to come. Thereby God multiplies His word as it goes out, as we are told that people continue to hear the messages in various languages even today.

Let us pray that the Spirit of God will work in people’s lives and that God’s name will be  greatly glorified. We praise God that we can look up to the Lord in prayer and humble ourselves and see His hand going before us. God is faithful.

Literature Ministry

In spite of all the restrictions and lockdowns, the Lord is guiding our publication team to be proactive, keeping them on their toes to print and publish more and more books in various languages, as many are yet to be reached with the gospel. The spacious book warehouse in Beulah Gardens is getting filled with these beautiful books in many languages.

As we seek to reach people of all languages, there is a great need for more soul-winning and soul-nourishing literature. So we publish good books and biographies in several languages.

The Lord enabled our publication team to print seven new books in English which Sister Lily recommended after having been blessed much by these books.

In Hindi, we published four new books and two books in the Odia language. Many books in English, Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi were reprinted as the stock became very low. Many other books are under translation into Hindi, Odia, Telugu and Tamil and other languages.

Due to the severe travel restrictions due to Covid virus epidemic, we could not conduct book fairs in any place during this past year. Let us pray for God’s intervention so that we may soon resume our book fairs.

Radio and Television MinistrY

The Word of God is the only hope for all nations. We praise God that our telecasts are sounding out God’s Word covering a greater part of the subcontinent of India. The dear Lord supplies what is needed to pay the bills for these telecasts that are bringing great enlightenment and blessing to many people who know little or nothing of the great and loving Saviour who died to bring them salvation. Let us cry to the Lord for His touch upon all our viewers.

The Word of God has been going out over two popular television channels that cover the whole country of Nepal. In addition, the telecasts in the UK, Germany, Guyana, Jamaica and the satellite broadcast are well received with much hunger and expectation, and many lives are greatly stirred and blessed. Let us pray for the Lord’s touch upon all the viewers.

The dear Lord continues to add his blessing upon our radio broadcasts that go out over 35 radio stations around Australia each week. Also the message is sent into Papua and New Guinea from the capital Port Moresby. It reaches Southeast Asia through the Christian Radio station FEBC (Far Eastern Broadcasting Corporation). In addition to this, we have found an opening in northwestern Africa for our broadcast. Our TV broadcast goes out each Tuesday evening through Inspiration TV. Please pray for this unseen audience that the Spirit of God would awaken many to their need of a Saviour.

In addition to these radio broadcasts, the message of God’s love and power goes out via shortwave covering the US, Europe, China, and Africa. We must also pray for the 15 weekly AM/FM quarter-hour broadcasts reaching various cities in the United States.

 CALLED TO GLORY

Andreas Heinzel

The Lord called our brother Andreas Heinzel to heaven on October 24, 2020.  Our brother ran a small Gospel Dentistry clinic in Ireland and worked to reach out to people with the gospel.  From his university days in Berlin, he always trusted the Lord in every step as he intently heard God’s word at the retreats in Germany when God touched him as a young man. Andreas’ desire was that his children live to serve the Lord.  Let us pray much for Beatrix and the six children he has left behind, that they will build on the foundation of faith and live to glorify God.

Rev Norman Duncan

Brother Norman Duncan went Home to be with the Lord in October.  Dad first came in contact with our brother Duncan in Ireland.  Later when Norman Duncan was a student in Birkenhead Bible school in England,  Dad also spent a short time there.  Norman Duncan was the doorman who kept Dad out as he was late for breakfast at the Bible school.  This taught my Dad to be on time which he then taught the Indian congregation to be on time.

Our brother and his wife, Joan, laboured amongst the Bible students from 1994 to 2004 in Madras, teaching them God’s word.  He preached in many of the Fellowship centres, including Stuartpuram which he enjoyed very much.  They loved their chapathies and during the summer, they would spend their time in Ooty hill station in the Nilgiris in quiet and prayer.  He was greatly missed when he had to return to Ireland due to health reasons. Please do continue to pray for his wife Joan.

Mrs. Jayasingh

Mrs. Jayasingh was called Home on May 5.  She laboured for the Lord beside her husband Dr. Jayasingh  in Royapuram, North Chennai and was a help and blessing to many people throughout her life as she lived for the Lord.

Older Evangelists

In India, God called several of our older evangelists and workers to their eternal home during the past year. Although we miss them, yet we praise God for their lives lived for the Lord and pray that the Lord will comfort each family.

Let us pray that God will raise up many more who will grow in faith and take up the torch and live their one life for the Lord.

Covid-19

One thing the whole world is learning from this pandemic is, as the scripture says, “The world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.” (I John 2:17)

Much prayer across the Fellowship went up asking for the Lord’s protection as the Covid virus spread across the nation and the world.  We witnessed across the Fellowship the protective hand of God and many of our people being healed of Covid 19 and the Lord most miraculously extending lives. There were doctors who acclaimed, “It was only because of the Fellowship’s prayer you are living today.”

In some cases, the Lord overruled our prayer and saw it fit to call several of our dear brothers and sisters Home. We praise God for each one of their lives and the tremendous testimony they left behind, having spent their days on earth in serving the Lord and living for eternity.  We pray that the Lord will raise up many in their stead to follow the Lord with all their heart with a deep burden to reach lost souls. It grieves our hearts to witness so many people going to a Christless grave  as the mass media in some countries understate the loss of life by at least ten times.

God will hold each of us accountable at the end of our days and will ask us, “So what did you do for me in your life on earth?” The Bible says, “For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required” (Luke 12:48). God has given us much light from His word in the Fellowship and God will surely hold us accountable. Let us be faithful to the Lord and serve Him with all our hearts until He calls us Home.

Conclusion

It is only the Lord who can protect His people from the pestilence as we read in Psalm 91. The question is, have we made God our refuge and habitation in our lives, families and nations? Let us humble ourselves and cry to the Lord to lift us to a higher level of faith and walk with Him in this new year of ministry, and that God’s name is glorified.

Let us watch and pray that as individuals and as a Fellowship, we grow in our individual and collective faith in God.  Let us always be ready and faithful until the Lord’s return, always remembering God’s faithfulness with much gratitude to the Lord, as much is still to be accomplished for Him while it is yet day.
