“All to Jesus I surrender.” When you say “all” it may be all in your sight; but before God it is not ‘all’. By prayer and Bible study, your ‘all’ will increase. Forty years ago I sang this song, and I thought that I had surrendered all. When I dug deep, I found that I had not surrendered all. “All to Jesus I surrender” is a statement restricted by our understanding. When we surrender all we will be like Jesus Christ. It will bring the commendation of God: “This is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased.” One day God must rejoice that way over us.

Isaiah 64:4 “For since the beginning of the world men have not heard nor perceived by the ear neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him." (I Cor. 2:9) God knows what He has for you. When you ask for less than what He has, He is sad. He has great things for you. There are many valuable things in my house, but my granddaughter does not ask for them. She asks for my buttons. We must not be children but grow into men in understanding. Do you know what God has for you and for your home? When God saw Mary, He knew what a great woman she would be. Luke 1:28-33. Did Mary know what great things God had for her? I don't know. But she qualified herself for those great things. God gave them to her. She is the most blessed one among women. “Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the beings which God hath prepared for them that love him.” God had great things for Mary who certainly came from a godly family. In many Christian homes there is adultery. There is fear among them. What does the Bible say about it? Eph. 5:3 “But fornication, and all uncleanness, or coveteousness. Let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;” Christians ought to be like this. They must not even mention this sin. When senior people hide it, how can great things come out? When you are filled with the Holy Spirit, you flee from fornication. In the Church in which I grew up these things were not mentioned. The missionaries were of that standard.

Eye has not seen nor has the ear heard what God has stored for you. Do not run wild for the pleasures of this body. Many of my classmates died on account of chasing these things. The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom. Job 28:28 “And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.” In India, there is no fear of sin. The worst sinner is able to put on a bold face and preach. The devil will laugh at them. Some may even study in a theological college. Do they learn the fear of God there? With hypocrisy they take to preaching. A preacher is exposed to many dangers. Therefore such instruction is given in Deut. 11:18-20.

Is God unwise in giving us this commandment? No. First let this law be in your heart, says God. To get the Word of God into our heart is not an easy thing. We get it into our mind to preach it to others. I never read the Bible to preach it to others. I do not like to do so. If I do not believe it and take it into my heart, I do not want to preach it. Everyone has this responsibility. Let a man take care of himself to take the Bible into his heart as he reads it. When you take it into your heart, everything in your house will be blessed.

In this Retreat, everything is blessed. We trust God and leave all in His hands. God has hidden blessings in your brothers. God sees them but you do not see them and so you do not teach them. The gold in them will emerge when you teach them. I believe Israel (Jacob) would have taught Joseph the things of God from childhood. Joseph was a child when Jacob wrestled with God and became Israel. Whatever God taught him, I believe, he would have taught Joseph. Therefore the Spirit of prophecy and righteousness came out from Joseph.

Egypt was the worst country known for its immorality at that time. But Joseph was living a spotless life in that very country. Do not go away from this retreat without meeting God. Daniel wrestled in prayer until an angel came down and met him. The power to overcome sin will be sent down to you. Some say, “I cannot overcome the flesh. I get evil thoughts.” That means you are in a low level. The love of money and the love of fame, left me long ago. I do not care for those things. I want a Christlike life. That alone can satisfy me.
