Hosea Chapter 8
Ten tribes separated themselves from
Benjamin and Judah. These tribes Benjamin and Judah are called Israel in this
book and ten tribes are called Ephraim. God calls Ephraim a wild ass. Ephraim
was idolatrous. God speaks very severely about them that left Jehovah. Hosea 8:7
"For they have sown the wind and they shall reap the whirlwind: it hath no
stalk: the bud shall yield no meal: if so be it yield,
the strangers shall swallow it up." They were enjoying an apparent
freedom. Those who are not in God's will enjoy an apparent freedom. But the
devil will be planning their ruin. When people leave God, they begin to sow the
wind and they will reap the whirlwind. One day they will find that matters are
not in their control and they will give themselves up to the hands of the
devil.
When we leave the
fundamental truths of God and build churches they become places of sin. Verse
11 "Because Ephraim hath made many altars to sin, altars shall be unto him
to sin." To worship God in truth you must know the
truth. One who does not know the truth cannot lead
others into true worship. God is spirit and truth. When one is
truly born again, his soul gets instructed through the revelation
of the spirit. His prayers will be prophetic. Undoubtedly he will have an
attack of the devil. But if he still trusts in God and
clings to God, the devil will leave him. He will get a divine interpretation of
the Word.
Follow God's intention and
plan for you. When we are all in His plan we will be perfectly dovetailed
together and working together. Judah with all its faults still followed God.
Judah also was to be punished. The righteous may fall seven times but they will
rise again. The wicked fall never to rise.
Your choices in life are
most important. One must choose in every matter so that one's spiritual life
may be maintained.
