Dying with Jesus
"... I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus" (Galatians 6:17)
St. Paul says, "I bear in my body the marks of the death of
Jesus." "I am crucified with
Him," he says. We that are
converted, let us be crucified with Him.
When the flesh dies and the sprit dominates, you will be a great
power. There is no limit to the goodness
that can come out of you when you die with Him.
There has to be the fruit of holiness in you without which we cannot
serve Him. When does the Word of God abide
in us? -- when we utterly obey the Word. Then it stays in us. When we disobey it, it is thrown out. "I
am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not
I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now
live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave
himself for me" (Galatians 2:20). It is a great experience - expect that
experience and God will lift you to it.
Let us be willing to lose everything else but let us gain that
experience. Gaining wealth and education
must be subordinated to it.
