The Greatest Gift- Calling On God
"...Jehoshaphat cried out, and the LORD helped him;..." (II Chronicles 18:31)
In this world, we have two kingdoms. The Kingdom of God and the kingdom of Satan. In Heaven, there is only one kingdom. That is the Kingdom of God. Yet, all power is given to Jesus upon this earth. Satan is like a serpent whose head is crushed, but frightens people by shaking his tail. Those who put their trust in Jesus, put themselves under His authority. God uses such people to establish and order His Kingdom. Those who are within the Kingdom of God do not need to fear. Those who are cleansed in the Blood of Jesus and dwell under the shadow of the Almighty need fear nothing. If they are in the will of God, God will give His angels charge over them, that they do not even strike their head against a stone. "Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews" (John 18:36). "Thinkest thou that I cannot pray my Father, and he shall presently can give me more than twelve legions of angels?" (Matthew 26:53). Those who abide in Jesus and fulfill His Word will be mighty. To abide in Him, and to fulfill His Word, is the most blessed state. "If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you" (John 15:7). Many desire the gift of tongues and other gifts. But to live fulfilling the will of God is the greatest gift of all. Jesus said, "I do always those things that please him(My Father)" (John 8:29). Jesus also said, "He that heareth My Word, and doeth it, will never die"
