“Ye Shall See Heaven Open”                               Late Mr. N. Daniel

John 1:51

“And he saith unto him, ‘Verily, verily, I say unto you, Hereafter ye shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man.”

A man named Nathanael was brought to Jesus. Philip brought him to Jesus. Nathanael could not believe any good could come out of Nazareth. But when Jesus described him as an Israelite without guile, he believed on Jesus. Before Philip called him, Jesus knewhim. Jesus knew more about Nathanael than Philip did. To be without guile is a great quality before God. God knows you perfectly. He knows more about you than others do. He knows more about you than your parents or husband or wife do. He can point out your virtues and your weaknesses. He is so wonderful that He is able to work out His goodness in you and make use of that goodness for His glory. John 6:44: "No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him and I will raise him up at the last day." He is working in all men. John 6.45 "It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father cometh unto me." Everyone is being taught of God. Some yield to Him, others do not. The measure of God's grace that can be given to you depends on the extent you yield to Him. You may not know very deep things. But if you obey the little truth that you know, you will be given more grace. It was wonderful how Nathanael was brought into the presence of Jesus. In a way he was in the presence of God even before that. But now Jesus was going to emp1oy him in His own service. This was a great day for Nathanael. He was standing before the judge of all the earth. How good it is to stand before God! How good it is to hear his judgment of you! You will no more make a mistake in knowing who you are. But Nathanael did not know all things. Nathanael knew that the scripture spoke of Jesus. When he saw Jesus, he was very happy. "Thou art the Son of God; thou art the King of Israel," he said. "And he saith unto him. “Verily, Verily I say unto you, Hereafter ye shall see heaven open and the angels ascending and descending upon the Son of God.” Christ says you have greater things to see. God wants to show you greater things. At conversion you saw something of God. Many live only on that experience. But God wants to show you heaven open. Many new truths will be revealed to you. Every revelation will inspire you. Those who see you will be inspired. New light and new power will be seen in you. You will not only know Him as Saviour but also as Lord and King.
