Seeking the Lord's Blessing
"As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves
according to the former lusts in your ignorance: But as he which hath
called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;"
(I Peter 1:14,15)
You must get victory in the days of your
youth. Jacob postponed for twenty years
the possession of God's blessing. Your
new heart or your reformed nature is a great land productive of immense good. As a man continues to claim God's Word, he
will become one who will show Christ in all the aspects of his life. There are no limits to a Christian life. Jacob, very late in his life with tears
wrestled with an angel and prevailed.
Every wasted day does great damage to our lives and the lives of those
who look to us. Jacob wrestled with an
angel and prevailed. He sought with
tears the blessings that was waiting at his
doors. God was knocking at his heart's
door for twenty years but he was full of worldly desires. The sooner our thoughts are eliminated and
His desires are implanted in us, the better.
Let us not fashion our lives as we once did in the lusts of the
flesh. Let us not delay even one
day. Let us separate ourselves from the
world. A life like Christ's will have
its impact on those around. 'Wait on God
continually.' Those that hold on to the
Bible and study it continually are those that wait on the Lord. You must know what God has promised you in
your youth - victory now, over the flesh and over worldly desires. God's purposes should be fulfilled in your
life. Let that be your aim. Jacob yielded to God that night. What a blessing he became to the world!
