True Enjoyment
" .... the words that I speak unto you, they are
spirit, and they are life." (John
6:63)
A man who comes to the higher regions of
spiritual life really enjoys his life.
But it is not for us to enjoy it alone.
We have to bear other's burdens.
We have to study the Bible. At
one stage the Word of God is flesh and at another stage it is Spirit. The Word is life which heals and strengthens
you and then you are filled with His Spirit.
This is a spiritual enjoyment which you will share with others in
need. "From the sole of the foot
even unto the head there is no soundness in it; but wounds, and bruises, and
putrifying sores: ..." (Isaiah 1:6).
In this world people are full of wounds and bruises. They are bleeding inside. People are sinking in their hearts. 'Come
unto me,' says Christ. You will be
lifted into a higher life and energized to serve God. Do you despise God's service? There is nothing higher than that you can be
engaged in. If you save one drunken
father, how much misery you are ending!
What would it be if you saved a hundred such fathers! We must know the dignity of our service. Our dignity is our humility. If you rise into higher atmosphere by prayer
and energize yourself through the study of the Word and go forward and rescue
men, you will create a little heaven around you. No one who seeks the world will be happy at
the end of his life. He will die with
sorrow and disappointment. One who
consecrates himself to the Lord and serves Him will have no sorrow at the end
of his life. He will look back with joy
at all he has done. He will bequeath
faith to his children. There is a great
future for you. You can achieve things
that none others have achieved. Always
expect great things from God and attempt great things for God.
